Wow. It's been a while. I clicked on our blog today and realized that our last post pictured Ethan surrounded by pumpkins. Since Thanksgiving is so last month, it's time for Christmas cheer, people!
Speaking of last month, and before I move on to holiday happenings, here is a picture that captures what we've been dealing with around here - a (almost) 2-year-old who loves to rake the driveway.
No, that's not a fashionable boot on Ethan's right leg, it is a stabilizing one provided by an orthopedic doctor. It turns out that when you attempt to leap out of your crib for the first time, one of two things can happen. 1) You successfully land like a cat and start reading your books on the floor. Nap time is finished! OR 2) You land weird, fracture your leg, and scare the poo out of your parents. Luckily, the boot was on for about 2 1/2 weeks and he was healed. When we got him dressed for the first few days without the boot, Ethan would remind us, "Bye-bye big boot!" Tell me about it...
And here is Ethan in his big boy bed. Some leisure reading and time alone is always nice at the end of a hard day...
On to holiday happenings! We ventured to the big city again to experience the Pink Pig with our friends, the Muscharas and Bashams. Unlike last year, Ethan was all sorts of friendly with the Pig. This included a kiss on the cheek and a high five (and a major rub down in Purell afterward). Exiting the Pig was another story. He'd still be riding around in that tent if I would have let him. This is me doing a WWF move to try and get him to take a picture with me before he runs back to the tent, hopeful for more Pig time...
Merry Christmas, everyone!
