Mama Said There'd Be Days Like This...

Challenges:
- Separation anxiety. This is most prevalent at church and when Grandpa is around. Strange. Ethan, our prayer is that you'll one day love the Lord's House and all of your relatives.
- Teething. There are two razor-sharp teeth making their way into Ethan's mouth. Ouch. Teething rings? No thank you. Cooled items to chew on? No thank you. Things that provide relief are my elbow, Jeffrey's phone, and chair legs.
- The ability to move swiftly. The phrase, "Okay, I'll just lay him here and go..." is no longer a part of our vocabulary. This is because of #1 and his ability to move swiftly in some sort of combat crawl move (usually towards a chair leg to chew on).
- Going back to work. It's been hard.
Joys:
- Separation anxiety. While I hate that he's upset when we leave him, it's quite a joy to see him reach for us when we're around.
- Teething. Getting teeth means eating actual food. Eating actual food means that you might also be able to communicate better. Communicating better means no more screeching at dinner between bites. My ears are bleeding just typing about it.
- The ability to move swiftly. We feel blessed to have a healthy, happy, growing boy. I have never been so content in having a destroyed living room.
- Going back to work. Working part-time has made me enjoy my time with him that much more. This will make me a better Mom in the long run. At least, that's what I tell myself when the alarm goes off at 5:30 a.m.
